NATURE OF ROWING

  • Rowing is a rhtymic and repetitive activity that involves engagement and letting go, working and relaxing in each stroke.

  • Very mechanics of rowing requires the rower to be calm while going fast and exerting power.

We live in a time where we occupy more space in our minds than our bodies. We overwhelm our minds with high performance expectations and very little meaningful rest and rejuvination. Good news is that we can train our minds. Our minds can learn to be calm and effective.

At each stroke, rowing gives us feedback from the boat and our body. That feedback  combined with the elements of nature  helps us to stay focused and invites us to be in the moment. Each stroke becomes an opportunity to come back to the present moment and train our mind.
